How MEXAFIX-100 Works
Cefixime is a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic. It interferes with bacterial cell-wall synthesis by binding to penicillin-binding proteins. As a result, susceptible bacteria cannot maintain their cell walls and eventually die.
Therefore, Cefixime can help clear infections caused by bacteria that remain susceptible to the medicine. However, it has no useful activity against viral infections.
