How MEXACOLD Works
MEXACOLD contains four active ingredients that address different symptoms.
Phenylephrine Hydrochloride works as a nasal decongestant. It causes constriction of blood vessels in the nasal passages, which can help reduce swelling and improve nasal airflow.
Paracetamol works mainly as an analgesic and antipyretic. Therefore, it can help reduce headache, body aches and fever.
Diphenhydramine Hydrochloride is an antihistamine. It blocks histamine activity and can consequently reduce symptoms such as sneezing and a runny nose. However, it can also cause drowsiness.
Caffeine acts as a central nervous system stimulant and is included in some combination analgesic formulations. Its presence does not mean that MEXACOLD treats the underlying cold or infection.

Important Safety Information

Do not take another medicine containing Paracetamol at the same time unless a healthcare professional specifically advises you to do so. Many cold, flu and pain-relief products already contain paracetamol, so combining them can unintentionally increase the total dose and raise the risk of liver damage.
MEXACOLD contains Diphenhydramine, which can cause drowsiness. Avoid driving, operating machinery or performing activities requiring alertness until you know how the medicine affects you. Also, avoid alcohol because it can increase diphenhydramine-related sedation.
Tell your healthcare professional if you have high blood pressure, heart disease, liver disease, glaucoma, urinary difficulties, thyroid problems or other chronic conditions before using a multi-ingredient cold medicine.
Phenylephrine can affect blood pressure and heart rate, so people with cardiovascular conditions should seek medical advice before using products containing this ingredient.
Also tell your doctor or pharmacist about all medicines you take. Diphenhydramine can interact with other medicines that cause drowsiness, including certain sedatives, sleep medicines and some antidepressants.
Do not use MEXACOLD simply to treat a persistent or unexplained fever. Seek medical advice if symptoms become severe, last longer than expected or worsen.
Seek urgent medical attention if you develop difficulty breathing, facial or throat swelling, severe skin reactions, severe palpitations or other signs of a serious reaction.

Dosage & Administration
The appropriate dose of MEXACOLD depends on the product label, patient’s age, symptoms and individual health factors. Take the medicine exactly as directed by your healthcare professional or the pack instructions.
Swallow the tablet with water. Do not take more than the recommended amount, and do not combine it with another cold, flu or pain medicine that contains the same active ingredients.
Because MEXACOLD contains Paracetamol 500 mg and Diphenhydramine 25 mg, extra doses or duplicate medicines can increase the risk of adverse effects.
If you miss a dose, follow the instructions provided with the product. Do not take an additional dose simply to make up for a missed one.
