Uses of CLOZYNE-PLUS
CLOZYNE-PLUS may be prescribed for selected inflammatory skin conditions where fungal or bacterial involvement accompanies inflammation, provided that treatment with the individual components is clinically appropriate.
Depending on the diagnosis, it may be considered for:
- Selected inflammatory dermatoses with fungal involvement
- Certain superficial fungal skin conditions accompanied by significant inflammation
- Skin conditions with suspected secondary bacterial involvement
- Selected mixed or complicated superficial skin infections requiring combination topical therapy
The exact indication depends on the patient’s diagnosis, affected body area, severity and clinical assessment.
CLOZYNE-PLUS should not be used routinely for every itchy rash, fungal infection or skin irritation. In particular, the presence of a potent corticosteroid means that an accurate diagnosis is important before treatment.
Key Benefits of CLOZYNE-PLUS
- Helps reduce inflammation and redness: Clobetasol suppresses inflammatory activity in corticosteroid-responsive skin conditions.
- Antifungal support: Tolnaftate and Clotrimazole provide antifungal activity against susceptible fungi.
- Antibacterial activity: Gentamicin and Neomycin provide antibacterial activity against susceptible bacteria.
- Helps relieve itching and irritation: Reduction of inflammatory activity can help ease associated skin discomfort.
- Multi-component formulation: Combines corticosteroid, antibacterial and antifungal ingredients in one topical preparation.
- Broad topical therapeutic approach: Addresses selected inflammatory conditions involving fungal or bacterial components when medically appropriate.
- Convenient cream formulation: Designed for topical application to affected skin.
- 15 GM pack: Supplied in a practical dermatological cream pack.
How CLOZYNE-PLUS Works
Each active ingredient contributes a specific action.
Clobetasol 0.05% is a very potent topical corticosteroid. It acts on corticosteroid receptors in skin cells and reduces inflammatory activity. Consequently, it can help decrease redness, swelling, itching and irritation.
Gentamicin Sulphate 0.1% is an aminoglycoside antibiotic. It interferes with bacterial protein synthesis and can act against susceptible bacteria.
Neomycin 0.5% is another aminoglycoside antibiotic that interferes with bacterial protein production, helping control susceptible bacterial growth.
Tolnaftate 1.00% is a topical antifungal agent that interferes with fungal growth and is used against certain superficial dermatophyte infections.
Clotrimazole 1% is an imidazole antifungal. It interferes with the production of ergosterol, an important component of fungal cell membranes, thereby affecting susceptible fungal cells.
Iodochlorhydroxyquinoline 1.00% is a halogenated hydroxyquinoline compound used in certain topical preparations for its antimicrobial properties.
Chlorocresol 0.1% is included as part of the formulation and may function as an antimicrobial preservative.
Together, these ingredients provide multiple therapeutic actions. However, because the formulation contains a very potent corticosteroid and multiple antimicrobial agents, its use should remain diagnosis-specific and medically supervised.

Important Safety Information
Use CLOZYNE-PLUS only according to the advice of a healthcare professional.
- CLOZYNE-PLUS is for external use only.
- Avoid contact with the eyes, mouth and other mucous membranes.
- Do not apply to large areas of the body unless specifically prescribed.
- Avoid routine application to the face, groin or underarms unless specifically directed by a healthcare professional.
- Clobetasol is a very potent corticosteroid. Prolonged or unnecessary use can increase the risk of skin thinning and systemic corticosteroid-related effects.
- Do not use under airtight or occlusive dressings unless specifically instructed.
- Corticosteroids can mask or worsen certain infections. If the rash spreads or becomes worse, seek medical reassessment.
- Do not use CLOZYNE-PLUS simply because a skin condition is itchy or red. The underlying cause should be appropriately assessed.
- Avoid prolonged continuous use unless specifically prescribed.
- Neomycin and gentamicin can cause allergic or sensitizing skin reactions in some individuals.
- Tell your doctor if you have previously experienced an allergy to corticosteroids, aminoglycoside antibiotics, clotrimazole, tolnaftate or other topical medicines.
- Inform your healthcare professional about other creams, ointments or medicines being applied to the same skin area.
- Children may be more susceptible to adverse effects from potent topical corticosteroids, so use in children should follow specific medical advice.
- Do not apply to broken skin, open wounds or severely damaged areas unless directed by a healthcare professional.
- Discuss use during pregnancy or breastfeeding with your healthcare professional before using the product.
- Keep out of reach of children.

Dosage & Administration
Apply CLOZYNE-PLUS exactly as prescribed by your healthcare professional.
Before application, gently clean and dry the affected area unless otherwise instructed. Apply a thin layer of the cream to the affected skin and gently spread it over the area.
The frequency and duration depend on the diagnosis, severity, location and treatment response. Because CLOZYNE-PLUS contains clobetasol 0.05%, treatment should generally remain short term and medically supervised.
Do not apply more frequently or in larger quantities than recommended. Avoid applying the cream to unaffected skin.
Do not cover the treated area with an occlusive dressing unless specifically instructed by your healthcare professional.
If you miss an application, apply it when remembered unless it is nearly time for the next application. Do not apply an excessive amount to compensate for a missed application.
If the condition does not improve, spreads or becomes worse during treatment, consult your healthcare professional rather than continuing the cream on your own.
