Uses of LUHEX

LUHEX may help treat selected superficial fungal skin infections caused by susceptible fungi.

Depending on the diagnosis, a healthcare professional may recommend luliconazole cream for:

  • Athlete’s foot (tinea pedis)
  • Jock itch (tinea cruris)
  • Ringworm of the body (tinea corporis)
  • Other superficial fungal skin infections where luliconazole offers an appropriate treatment option

However, the correct indication depends on the diagnosis and applicable product information. Therefore, do not use LUHEX for an undiagnosed rash simply because the skin feels itchy, red or irritated.

Key Benefits of LUHEX

  • Antifungal Action: Luliconazole targets susceptible fungi and helps control fungal growth.
  • Supports Fungal Infection Treatment: The medicine acts against fungi responsible for selected superficial skin infections.
  • Helps Manage Associated Symptoms: As the infection improves, itching, redness, scaling and discomfort may also decrease.
  • Direct Topical Application: The cream delivers luliconazole directly to the affected skin.
  • 1% w/w Strength: Each formulation contains Luliconazole at a 1% w/w concentration.
  • Convenient Cream Format: The product comes in a practical 30 GM tube.

How LUHEX Works

Luliconazole belongs to the azole antifungal group. It interferes with the fungal pathway responsible for producing ergosterol, an important component of fungal cell membranes.

As a result, the fungal cell cannot maintain normal membrane structure and function. This action inhibits the growth of susceptible fungi and helps the body clear the infection.

Furthermore, as the fungal infection responds to treatment, associated symptoms such as itching, redness, scaling and discomfort can gradually improve.

Common Side Effects of LUHEX

Most people tolerate topical luliconazole well when they use it as directed. Nevertheless, some individuals may develop mild reactions at the application site, including:

  • Burning or stinging
  • Itching
  • Redness
  • Skin irritation
  • Dryness
  • Local discomfort
  • Mild peeling or scaling

These reactions usually remain limited to the treated area. However, stop using LUHEX and seek medical advice if you develop severe irritation, swelling, blistering or signs of an allergic reaction.

Important Safety Information

Use LUHEX according to the directions of a qualified healthcare professional or the approved product information.

  • LUHEX is intended for external topical use.
  • Avoid contact with the eyes, mouth and other mucous membranes.
  • Do not swallow the cream.
  • Do not apply LUHEX inside the vagina or to other areas unless the product specifically carries instructions for that use.
  • Avoid applying the cream to severely damaged or extensively irritated skin unless a healthcare professional recommends it.
  • Wash your hands before and after application, unless you are treating your hands.
  • Do not use the cream more frequently or for longer than recommended.

Dosage & Administration

Apply LUHEX exactly as prescribed by your healthcare professional.

The required frequency and treatment duration depend on the type and location of the fungal infection. For example, some approved luliconazole 1% regimens use once-daily application, while the treatment duration can differ according to the affected area and diagnosis.

For general topical application:

  1. First, clean and gently dry the affected area.
  2. Next, apply a thin layer of LUHEX to the affected skin as directed.
  3. Gently spread the cream over the affected area and, where instructed, the surrounding skin.
  4. Wash your hands after application unless you are treating the hands.
  5. Avoid contact with the eyes and mucous membranes.
  6. Continue treatment for the complete period recommended by your healthcare professional.

Do not apply excessive amounts to obtain faster results. Similarly, do not increase the frequency of application without medical advice. If you miss an application, follow the product instructions rather than applying a large quantity later.

Storage

  • Store LUHEX in a cool and dry place.
  • Protect the tube from excessive heat and direct sunlight.
  • Keep the tube tightly closed when not in use.
  • Store the cream in its original packaging.
  • Protect the product from excessive moisture.
  • Do not freeze unless the manufacturer specifically instructs you to do so.
  • Keep out of reach of children.
