Description
QUONE-TM contains Hydroquinone 2.00% w/w, Tretinoin 0.025% w/w and Mometasone Furoate 0.1% w/w in topical cream form. This combination brings together a skin-lightening agent, a topical retinoid and a corticosteroid. Such triple-combination formulations may be prescribed for selected hyperpigmentation disorders, particularly when a healthcare professional considers combined treatment appropriate.
QUONE-TM is intended for external use only and should be applied carefully because its ingredients can cause skin irritation and corticosteroid-related adverse effects when used incorrectly or for prolonged periods. It is supplied in a convenient 15 GM pack.

Uses of QUONE-TM
QUONE-TM may be prescribed for selected hyperpigmentation conditions where a combination of Hydroquinone, Tretinoin and Mometasone Furoate is considered appropriate by a dermatologist.
Depending on the diagnosis, the formulation may be used for:
- Selected facial hyperpigmentation
- Melasma and similar pigmentation disorders when clinically appropriate
- Uneven skin pigmentation requiring medical treatment
- Hyperpigmentation associated with increased melanin production
- Short-term dermatological treatment of pigmentation under professional supervision
The exact indication depends on the patient’s skin condition, severity, skin type and medical assessment.
QUONE-TM should not be used as a general fairness or cosmetic cream. Hydroquinone and Tretinoin require appropriate medical guidance, while prolonged or inappropriate corticosteroid use can cause significant skin problems.
Key Benefits of QUONE-TM
- Supports pigmentation management: Hydroquinone helps reduce melanin production in the skin.
- Retinoid activity: Tretinoin promotes changes in epidermal cell turnover and can support treatment of certain pigmentation disorders.
- Anti-inflammatory action: Mometasone Furoate helps reduce inflammatory skin responses.
- Triple-combination formulation: Brings together depigmenting, retinoid and corticosteroid components.
- Helps improve uneven pigmentation: Appropriate treatment may gradually reduce areas of excess pigmentation.
- Convenient topical formulation: Designed for controlled application to affected skin areas.
- 15 GM pack: Convenient pack size for dermatological treatment as directed.
How QUONE-TM Works
Each ingredient contributes through a different mechanism.
Hydroquinone is a topical depigmenting agent. It reduces melanin production by interfering with the enzymatic processes involved in melanin formation. This can gradually lighten areas of excess pigmentation.
Tretinoin is a topical retinoid related to Vitamin A. It affects epidermal cell turnover and can help improve the penetration and effectiveness of hydroquinone in combination treatment. Tretinoin can also influence the distribution of pigment within the epidermis.
Mometasone Furoate is a topical corticosteroid. It reduces inflammatory activity in the skin and can help control irritation and inflammatory responses associated with the other components.
Together, these ingredients provide complementary actions for selected pigmentation disorders. However, the corticosteroid component means that treatment duration and application area require careful medical supervision.
Common Side Effects of QUONE-TM
Some people may experience local skin reactions, particularly during the early stages of treatment. Possible effects include:
- Mild burning or stinging
- Redness
- Dryness
- Peeling
- Skin irritation
- Itching
- Increased sensitivity to sunlight
Tretinoin can commonly cause dryness, peeling and irritation, especially when treatment begins.
Hydroquinone can occasionally cause irritation or contact dermatitis. Prolonged or inappropriate use may also cause exogenous ochronosis, a rare condition involving darkening or blue-black discoloration of the skin.
Mometasone Furoate can cause corticosteroid-related effects when used excessively or for prolonged periods, including:
- Skin thinning
- Stretch marks
- Visible small blood vessels
- Changes in skin pigmentation
- Increased susceptibility to skin infection
- Delayed wound healing
Stop treatment and seek medical advice if severe irritation, swelling, blistering, marked skin discoloration or other concerning reactions develop.
Important Safety Information
Use QUONE-TM only under the direction of a qualified dermatologist or healthcare professional.
- For external use only. Do not swallow.
- Avoid contact with the eyes, lips, inside of the nose and other mucous membranes.
- Do not apply the cream to broken, irritated or infected skin unless specifically directed.
- Do not use QUONE-TM as a general skin-lightening or fairness product.
- Avoid applying the cream to large areas of the body.
- Avoid prolonged continuous use unless your dermatologist specifically recommends it.
- Mometasone is a corticosteroid, and excessive or prolonged application can cause skin thinning and other local or systemic adverse effects.
- Avoid using the product under airtight or occlusive dressings unless specifically instructed.
- Use particular caution when applying the cream to the face because facial skin is more susceptible to corticosteroid-related adverse effects.
- Avoid the eyes and eyelids unless specifically prescribed for that area.
- Tretinoin can make the skin more sensitive to sunlight. Use appropriate sun protection and limit unnecessary sun exposure during treatment.
- Hydroquinone can cause irritation and, rarely, long-term discoloration such as exogenous ochronosis.
- Do not use on areas with untreated bacterial, viral or fungal skin infections unless advised by a healthcare professional.
- Tell your dermatologist about other topical acne, pigmentation, retinoid, steroid or skin-lightening products you are using.
- Avoid unnecessary use of other irritating skincare products while undergoing treatment.
- If significant irritation develops, contact your healthcare professional rather than increasing or reducing the application frequency yourself.
- Pregnant women should not use Tretinoin-containing topical medicines unless specifically advised by their healthcare professional. Discuss pregnancy or plans to become pregnant with your doctor before treatment.
- Consult your healthcare professional before using the product while breastfeeding.
- Keep QUONE-TM out of reach of children.
For additional information about topical tretinoin, refer to the NHS guidance on tretinoin.
Dosage & Administration
Apply QUONE-TM exactly as prescribed by your dermatologist or healthcare professional.
Clean and dry the affected area before application unless otherwise instructed. Apply a thin layer to the affected pigmentation areas and gently spread it over the skin.
The exact frequency and duration depend on the diagnosis, severity of pigmentation, treatment response and individual skin tolerance. Do not apply a thicker layer or use the cream more frequently in an attempt to obtain faster results.
Because the formulation contains Mometasone Furoate, prolonged or excessive use should be avoided. Follow the treatment duration specified by your dermatologist.
Wash your hands before and after application unless the hands are the treatment area.
Avoid applying the cream close to the eyes, lips or other sensitive areas unless specifically instructed.
Tretinoin may cause increased sensitivity to sunlight. Use appropriate sun protection during treatment and follow your dermatologist’s advice regarding sun exposure.
If excessive irritation, burning, peeling or redness occurs, consult your healthcare professional for further guidance.
